Jurmala's historic cityscape is dominated by low-rise seasonal residences characterized by woodworking traditions and craftsmanship quality. The aim of the Jurmala Historic Architecture Award is to draw attention to this architectural heritage, which is significant not only for Jurmala but also on a national scale, emphasized the Jurmala municipality.

This year, 15 of the most qualitatively restored and reconstructed objects related to historic construction were nominated for evaluation by the jury, among the buildings put into operation by the Jurmala City Building Authority in 2023.

Among the projects nominated for the award are buildings from the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as culturally and historically significant structures from the beginning of the last century, historic background buildings, local architectural monuments of national significance, culturally and historically valuable preserved structures, and local and national architectural monuments.

The competition jury, composed of architects and cultural heritage specialists, will evaluate the presence of cultural and historical substance, the balance of constructive and decorative building elements, and how the buildings fit into the surrounding environment to determine the five finalists who will be honored at the prestigious Jurmala Historic Award ceremony in September.

Shenbergs), Aglonas Street 1 (renovation by architect V. Vaskinovics), Bulduri Prospect 111 (renovation by architects G. Kilevics, J. Poga), Bulduri Prospect 84 k-3, k-4 (renovation by architect J.
