Dubai's tourism market has recovered from the effects of the pandemic faster than anyone else in the world, according to statistics from the local Department of Economics and Tourism. In the first half of 2023, the emirate received 8.55 million tourists.

Dubai welcomed 9.31 million foreign tourists in the first half of 2024, up 9% from the same period last year.

For comparison, in the first half of 2019 the volume of tourist flow amounted to 8.36 million travelers. As stated in the HSBC Global Research report, it is the Middle East region that is leading the development of the global tourism industry after the pandemic.

In the Middle East, the share of tourism in GDP is 5%, which is the highest. Data indicates that the recovery of the tourism industry and the economy as a whole will continue in 2024.

40% of experts believe that the Middle East tourism industry has already recovered from the consequences of the pandemic, another 20% expect its recovery by the end of 2023.

The tourist flow from Russia to Dubai from January to the end of June amounted to 616 thousand people, which is twice as high as the same period last year and 64% higher than in 2019, according to statistics published by the Department of Economy and Tourism of the emirate.

Russia took second position in the list in terms of the number of tourists. India remains the leader with 1.22 million travelers, and the UK is in third place with 555 thousand tourists. The top five also included Saudi Arabia and Oman.
